Hi guys,

 

 

  after a sabbaticle of 2 years ......... I just want to say that I found the bug in Atomic Manic Miner and was able to finish the game.

#1133 JSW2 Acorn Atom version

Hi guys,

 

  I just published Jet Set Willy 2 for the Acorn Atom.

This game was relatively easy to convert because it uses for 95% the same game engine as Jet Set Willy.

 

Here is a small demo video:

 

 

I have published Jet Set Willy 2 on the Startdot site.

 

You can download an Atom emulator here: http://stardot.org.u...t=9518&p=120911 (Atomulator v1.24.zip)

And Jet Set Willy 2 can be downloaded here: http://www.stardot.o...hp?f=44&t=10462 (JSW2.zip)

 

To get it running in Atomulator:
 
- Create a JSW2 directory in the MMC directory
- Upzip JSW2RUN and JSW2CODE into the JSW directory
- Start Atomulator
- Type: *CWD JSW2 and then *JSW2RUN to start the game

To get it running in Atomulator:

Hi Daniel,

 

  I didn't change the original text so it probably is introduced in the Electron conversion, but this is easy to change.

 

 

Well ..... you spotted one of the TODO things on my list ;)

For some reason the first roomname letter is small in the Atom version while in the Electron version it is a capital.

Haven't found the bug yet but first I have to find out how the roomname encryption works to adjust this.

 

I will release this version soon for testing.

Hi guys,

 

  I started a Manic Miner conversion for the Acorn Atom but got stuck in the collision routines.

After a lot of unsuccessful attemps, I decided to stop this conversion for now.

 

However ... I do like converting games so I started to convert Jet Set Willy.

This is looking very promising and the game is already working.

There are still a few things to do like adding sound, and decent testing.

 

The animation is looking terrible on Youtube but is good on a real Atom

Hi guys,

do you like my BBC to Atom conversions ....... ;)

I love writing software for the Atom. The MM intro screen is ready now:

The game is not finished yet, I'm still having trouble with the collision routines.
MM can stand on top of a monster and the highest keys can not be reached so it still needs some work.
The flicker is not all gone because the MM plot routine is the same as the BBC version which maybe can be less if triggered by vsync.
