JSW 2 Amiga
in JSW
What was peoples opinions of this version back then,I remember being surprised to see it on the Amiga but not really being that impressed. I think it just looked so different to what I was used too, nothing wrong with the graphical improvements and it was expected but it just was not JSW as I knew it.
Did anybody complete it?

Anybody else tried this version of Manic Miner , Matthew Holt (Revelation Software) programmed this 1992 verison for the Sam Coupe computer.
I have just had a quick go using emulation and it aint bad at all, only played to second screen and it feels a little more difficult than the 8-bit versions but the second screen looks a lot different so I will keep playing when I have more time.

Just browsing the many forums I am a member of and came across this thread on Lemon64 for online JSW multuiplayer, has anyone downloaded and tried this yet it looks fun?
Here is the thread

Andrew Broad used to maintain such a list. Here's a copy archived from when it was hosted on GeoCities: http://www.oocities.org/andrewbroad/spectrum/willy/list.html
The Yahoo group is https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/manicminerandjetsetwilly/info
Thanks John
There is quite a lot too take in there, with the disassembly thread as well I have a lot to look through over the next weeks and months , I have been slowly chipping away at a game using AGD but keep getting the urge to make another JSWed game,it was just so much easier lol

For anybody interested in the inner workings of the code to jsw or has an interest in assembly this may useful. Wos member 'skoolkid' has dissembled the code and posted the link. I have had a quick look and it is of great interest to me but I have little time to analyze it at the moment. The link is here - http://pyskool.ca/disassemblies/jet_set_willy/

Have you ever considered playing, reviewing or/and archiving every single editor game? ,that is every remake, rehash or even games where they just change Miner Willy`s hat lol.
There must be hundreds  , apparently there was a Yahoo news group on just JSWed remakes but I have never looked for it , apparently it was a good source of files and info. Personally I only started playing around with the editor a few years ago which is still probably five years behind everyone else.

I have put this here in Misc chat as there is no other area for other MM / JSW related articles not game variant related but anyway here goes,
Has anybody else purchased either a signed Manic Miner or Jet Set Willy signed print from Elite Sytsems? , I own No.43/50 of the MM prints and was going to purchase a JSW one but got side tracked and the price was a bit much for me at the time.

Strange,I have made two games using Jswed although four versions of the second game so I guess it felt like I had made five. I am not sure I had attract on any of them it plays music, flashes title screen with scrolling message then back to start.
That buggy platform effect is reminiscent of putting in random pokes back in the day and exploring the mansion to see what we had broken lol

Welcome. :)
Is your's the tape or disc version ? Coming to think about it afaik they are the same for JSW1 at least although would be interesting to know for sure.
The JSW2 versions (tape / disc) are quite different, ie "Ethel The Aardvark" etc, although I've not played that version for a few years
You know I had no idea there was differences between formats but now you have me curious. It is obviously through emulation and is a regular SSD file, so at this moment in time just looking at the game it I am unable to answer that question. It would take some time to be 100% sure as I would need to make a map lol.
You have me interesting in probing two versions of JSW2 if I have them.

Just started playing the Bbc computer version just to note any differences, early days yet but there is good use of colour as I would expect from this computer, sound is adequate.
Hello by the way I am a new member, about time there was a forum about these games :)

Good job on these ,we probably know the layout and what rooms we are approaching like the back of our hands but it is always interesting to look at the maps in their entirety
