    Hello there:

    Some months after my last post in 2020 my father died from COVID-19. It has been almost three years since, and I'm still suffering from anxiety-depression.

    "Jet Set Jason in Röddenwald" is gathering dust in my hard drive and, sadly, I'm no longer fit to finish it, so if anyone would like to complete it, I could share all my files with them.

    Thanks for all your support during those years, even if you think you didn't do a thing.

    Amazing analysis, Danny! I won't make any comments on the titles of the rooms, inspiration, etc... I will leave those for the Readme.
     
    I'll be back in some hours, as soon as I have read in depth your analysis and have some free time.

    This makes me think of playing the excellent re-master of The Bards Tale series last year and this. The dungeons in that game are
    unforgiving, like MM & JSW. Things that damage you always do, and you are forced to learn that you have to avoid them, there is
    no way to beat them or stop them from damaging you. Perhaps you can read into this a higher level of reality, as there are things
    just like in it real life, and there is no way to avoid the damage except to avoid the thing itself (falling off a high building) etc. If you think
    of say the original Tomb Raider, which is almost 25 years old now, there was so much forgiving scope in that game, you fell down
    high places and did not die, that players didn't really have to be as nervous as maybe we were playing games in the 80s, when it was
    a one shot deal, no saves, nothing. I am not saying that was better then, being able to save your game is a very useful feature, and
    easily the thing that improved the re-master of the Bards Tale, to the point where it was a lot easier to complete. That and automap.

    From my point of view - *if* I am right that the items cannot be collected after you've entered the room from the left - I think it's fantastic design (of the left side of the room) and I would strongly suggest leaving it in place as is. The items are tantalisingly close - not being able to collect them is delightfully frustrating!  :thumbsup:
     
    *If* the room is impossible to cross from right to left, this could also be left in place, as the player could either collect the items and exit to the right again, or exit upwards, if there is a room above.

    I confirm neither affirmation. I think it's the possible the room was unfinished and wasn't designed as impassable...

    Concerning your guess about the guardians in "Nothing here but debris...", you are right, those guardians are Ionic capitals. But my question was about the other guardians, the ones that look like 'embedded' Willies...
     
    In Danny's playthrough room 047 was impassable, that's true, but nevertheless he visited all rooms that were finished or almost-finished.
     
    It's true I didn't say anything about the rooms in playthrough 2, but that's just because they were only four and I hadn't anything very interesting to say...

    I'm running out of lives, getting caught in IDSs (several) and failing to avoid guardians and fire cells.
     
    I've simply hadn't the chance to run out of time. :D
