The good old Yook Ay is implementing perhaps one of the most shortsighted and stupid laws in recent history, and like most draconian internet laws the reasoning behind it is "Think of the children!" I can't see this forum complying with it, since unless you're a major tech company I doubt anyone can. https://www.ofcom.org.uk/online-safety/illegal-and-harmful-content/time-for-tech-firms-to-act-uk-online-safety-regulation-comes-into-force/ Perhaps it is time to move this site to a .net or .org domain and switch hosting to the US? I don't know if that would bypass it but it's worth a try.
  2. Is there a patched version of JSW II that uses the same mixed colour palette of the original? The bright colours look a bit garish.
  3. Discovered this gem on Emuunlim today. Has ports of Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy III, Join the Jet Set, Willy's New Hat, Manic Miner 7, The Deadly Mission, Willy's Holiday, Willy in Space and the Continuing Adventure. If you have an old DOS machine kicking around I highly recommend it, but I don't suggest running it on 32-bit Windows with DOS support as the game is designed for machines with little memory and will run fast. bonus.zip jsmw11a.zip
  4. I know you can entity graphics in JSWED, but room graphics seem to be a different matter. I'm trying to export a series of graphics of a fish jumping from a room in one game to another.
  5. What HEX code is used to decide how far down Willy can fall before dying?
  6. Thanks, I'm quite new to modifying JSW. The only thing I haven't been satisfied with is the roof tiles. Do you have tips for tile design? I haven't been able to find an old graphic design guide for the spectrum.
  7. Set the third unit to 2/0, ninth to 0/2 and tenth to 2/0 and it's working pretty well. Thanks.
  8. Neat. I saw that channel on b3ta a few days ago when it uploaded a 4K scaled map of JSW.
  9. I'm wondering if this could be traced back to a slightly corrupted original file? Loading the file in FUSE instead of EmuZWin leads to this: The file I used for editing (and converted to JSW64) was one that had the code entry system pre-nullified.
  10. I'm using JSWED with the JSW64 "]" configuration. It looks perfectly fine in the editor, but during gameplay the third tile is replaced with black, and, I'm unsure if this is an engine limitation, but if a tile is set to be air and not water it is covered by a large square when Willy walks to it. I've also noticed the formerly horizontal beams are replaced with the vertical beam tile. In the Editor: Game Running: Please note Willy is set to be blue in this room, so him being that color is not a problem.
