Dasse got a reaction from Spider in The Ql Forum
QL Caverns must be the game that's most close to MM for the QL I think :)

95% certain its a 'bootleg' ie an 'unofficial copy' :) The inlay is a give-away for this in most cases, although it could (that 5%) be a very small company / individual doing it.

Hello, Dasse, it's good to see you on this forum! :)
Thank you for sharing the photos of this editor, and for all the other stuff you have shared so far :) .
To be precise, the editor you have is Jet Set Willy Editor Mk 2 by Softricks. There was also what must have been its predecessor, JSW Editor, also by Softricks.
Anyhow, your collection is very impressive, indeed! :)

Dasse reacted to Spider in [File] JSW 2015 Bug Fixed Edition
Upon requests, I'm pleased so supply a 'high speed' loader of the aformentioned Bug-Fixed release.
Please note this has *no* changes compared to the previous releases with the exception of a tiny additional logo on the loading screen and a faster loader using a genuine Speedlock as per the 'Sold A Million' re-release of this game. The advantage of this is compared to an 'emulator built' one is the fact that only the game code is loaded not the whole memory = faster loading.
Note: Load in 48K mode.

This release is not meant as any form of 'protection' it is simply provided for transfer to 'real' hardware of loading scheme fanatics. Enjoy. :)
The update is simply to the loading scheme and the minor re-design of the jswmm logo.

View File Manic Miner Updated
We are pleased to release a mildly updated Spectrum version of Manic Miner.
1. The new loading screen I put together here has been used.
2. The code was again assembled using a 'real' speedlock loader for both its intended use (on a real machine) and for tape loading fanatics too. This is not intended as any form of 'protection' it is simply to cut down loading time from approx 3m15s to 2m30s. :) Only the game code is loaded rather than an emulator 'built' one as that would load all the memory which is not needed.
3. The game code was based on the Software Projects release rather than the more common Bug-Byte one, the reason for this was simply as the Software Projects release was later so it made more sense to base it on the 'last' code as such.
4. The 'typewriter' cheat was removed. The Software Projects version was "typewriter" instead of "6031769"
5. To make the game a bit more initially friendly, Willy starts with seven lives instead of three however:
6. There is no bonus life awarded every 10,000 points any more.
7. Minor detail: The scrolling message was slowed down a fraction so its more readable.
8. Minor detail: The scrolling message was altered very slightly to correct a few concerns:
In essence the changes are to capitalisation, spacing and the 'forgotten' pause keys.
Enjoy. :)
Note: Load in 48K mode

Dasse reacted to Spider in Welcome
Welcome! :)
This site is not intended to take any traffic away from other existing sites, its simply a place we have to discuss the range of JetSet Willy and Manic Miner games. Its fair to say these games have stood the test of time very well even now.
Although primarily aimed at the Spectrum versions, we welcome any contributions and thoughts on other platform variants of these games too, both standard and edited.
Feedback (both good and bad!) and suggestions are always appreciated, simply start a new topic in this area (News/Feedback) if you have any comments to provide.
Thank you!

Dasse reacted to Spider in Dasses Collection
Yes I'm almost sure I've seen MSX combined with 'something' else. Not sure what though unless it was BBC Micro perhaps

Thank you too!
I don't have a clue besides that Mastertronic/Riccochet release if that's the one you mean :)
MSX/64 seems like a very odd combination :)

Thank you for your kind comments. :)
Regarding 'combi' ones, do you happen to know what variations were produced ?
I've seen Spectrum/Amstrad as 'one' tape (I have JSW2 like this) but I think there was an MSX combi as well maybe MSX/C64 ?
