I'm not sure if that was post #4000, Danny? (If you hover over the '#1' hyperlink at the top-right of the first message in this thread, it says: http://jswmm.co.uk/t...4000/#entry4027
However, this post of mine is Post #5000!!!
Let's get the party poppers out!!!

Congratulations on post #5000, Ian!
Concerning the previous millenial posts, I went by what Andy indicated to me concerning No. 1000, 2000 and 3000 (to identify which ones they were), and I posted No. 4000 immediately after posting No. 3999, and I did it by watching the home page where it says how many posts there are. IIRC it was 3998, I posted one on a different subject (bringing the total to 3999) and then I posted the one which was No. 4000. So, yes, I trust it was the one.

I was going by the hyperlink, which has '#entry4027' at the end.
My post above has it thus:
However, looking at the homepage, it currently says:
(That's at the time of typing; I guess it will say 4,960 Total Posts when I go to check after submitting this.)
So it seems that my 'virtual party poppers' were premature.
The disparity between the two figures must arise from posts having been deleted by the Moderators.

Speaking of the millenial fetish:
