  1. I haven't tried, yet it seems there will be no problem. It doesn't depend on the current version only. I haven't used it due to unstableness, so it might be a good idea to mark it a the final stable one. Was so inspiring to launch a software I haven't been using for almost 20 years straight
  2. I did it. JSWED runs on Mac! Free and easy. Download Jswed229.exe Download and run Porting Kit. It is safe. Give it permission to read some folders like Download folder where you keep Jswed and some games to edit. Switch to Apps → Custom port, like on the screenshot Agree on all, choose downloaded jswed229.exe when prompted When it's done you get an app that runs windows based software in one click perfectly Happy JSW editing, mac users
  3. In 2012 I had a project on creating a design for a non-formal underground club for cinema lovers. It was real fun, I had almost no limits on my creativity. Besides all other work, I was needed to design arrows that could navigate guests to the toilets and the bar. Guess, who the main characters are? More can be seen on my old website: graphical identity, interior design and website
  4. I'd like to share my experience on creating unique presents to the girls I was into: Marina the firequest and Lena vs Margo. As you can guess, they are adressed to two girls, whom I wanted to impress in a non-standard way: Marina and Helen (Lena). — Flowers or box of sweets? Nah. — Games, made by yourself, where every room represents some story of your relationship? YES. Worked as a charm! — Is that me? Have you made it yourself? Oooh! — Yep, and that's me drawing a picture of you, and — see — there is your lovely kitty above the frame! (screen from Marina the Firequest) Works for the type of women who appreciate creativeness over fake emotions, those non-glamorous best type girlfriends. Have you ever gifted games or used them to play with SO? Invited your gfs to play JSW?
  5. Daniel, thanks for such outstanding archive of UMM mentiones. Haven't been tracking reactions, honestly. A few thoughts: I haven't been disappointed, I was quite sure, that "ultimate" word in the title means I haven't lied to the audience: it was ultimate difficult, ultimately different and it was jsw engine at its ultimate limits. It was experimental and experiments could be faced like that. Important that it hasn't been unnoticed, which is worse of all for me. Besides that, it was my final year at the art university and I started working, no time left. I got GF (one, then another, many of them), so had to spend less times on gaming. UMM took lots of my time! Spoiler: jsw games were super successful original presents. A bit geeky, but works for the right type of women. Almost lost interest in retro gaming, was quite interested in playing Boulder Dash Gdash clone by Artsoft for the past year. Can recommend! Small JSW games are not that bad, by the way. They are fun and not so ultimate to finish, can be played even without a rollback hell. Even Zx Heroes wasn't too long and it was appreciated. I think if I'll return to jsw making, I'd stick to this genre. I'm fine, live in Moscow, married, have kids, run a business (place branding, developing tourism, design, wayfinding, maps).
  6. Yes, and here is Frosya with her kittens in real life: the main heroes of the game.
  7. Hi guys, hi dear Sendy! Missed you so much. Ultimate Manic Miner is the hardcore jsw gaming with a low respect to the newcomers. The target audience would probably be crazy jsw players like Andrew Broad. Better play it on youtube. Over hype? Probably. The effect of the youth maximalism. I'm fine and this is my first actual day on the forum. So much has been going on here. Forward to stay in touch more and, might be, return to jsw scene if I find the way to launch jswed on my mac.
  8. Hi, I'm Igor I've created these games (and some more mini games) Frosya the Cat (early 2002) JSW: Zx Heroes (late 2002) Ultimate Manic Miner (early 2006) Mini games: Lena vs Margo (mid 2006) Marina the firequest (early 2007) It was a great time, being part of the JSW/MM scene in 2001 – 2007 (in a yahoo! group) Today Daniel Gromann has released a bug-fixed version of my first JSW game and I've experienceed so much nostalgia that it made me totally stuck, replaying and thinking of that awesome period of time. Jet Set Willy was an epoch of my life (16 – 22 y.o) Ask me anything!
  9. That is me, playing my own game in october 2002. By that time I've already started creating Zx Heroes.
  10. Due to recent activity of JetSetDanny in playtesting of my Frosya the Cat game, I once again can confirm, that launching JSWED upon Mac is so much in need. I would definately create something new for the JSW scene then! As JSWED is unix compatible, I suppose it would be not impossible to make an installer for a mac for a pro user (sadly, I'm not).
  11. Hi, dear old friends of MM and JSW community! Just want to say big thanks to awesome Daniel for playtesting and getting rid of all the unsolvable bugs from the original release of Frosya series. I was too excited during the days of development and wanted to release the game asap by the final. As a small present: there are two unfinished sequels of the original game, featuring Uzor in the main role, while Frosya being the one, who asks for bringing her items. Enjoy the bugfixed games, they're pretty a lot of content inside. How do you like the game? UZORENG.z80 UZORENG.z80
