  1. That's funny, last week I was randomly thinking of that DS game and then completed it. I was especially interested in the exclusive levels made for it and tried translating them in spectrum version. However, the DS has a slightly bigger screen which makes it quite awkward to do.

    Spoiler

I'm pretty sure trampoline cells are a standard feature in the JSW64 game engine. They have been used in some released games. I don't know if they work exactly like the ones in the SAM Coupé version, but even if they don't, it's certainly better to use them than not to use any kind of 'trampoline-like' cell where they should be (as per the original version).

They are pretty different. SAM Coupé trampolines' main purpose is cancelling your fall damage which JSW64 tramp cells don't do. They just make you jump when you're standing on them which SAM Coupé trampolines also don't do.

The JSW64 engine can totally handle "The Space Shuttle" or "Back to Work" though.

There's a bug in JSWED where batch exporting rooms from variant X to variant V causes every other room to go missing, so I had to export each room manually. I also noticed that all my items were missing in-game, despite appearing in JSWED, but thankfully that was sorted out by simply deleting and re-instancing the items.

I have had odd quirks before with absent rooms, I think in my case (it was quite a while ago) I chose to export perhaps a dozen or two rooms, and some of them appeared. It might be worth letting John Elliot know about this in case he one day plans any updates. AFAIK the last update was 2015 (or 2012, not sure) , he does have an account here but I'm not sure if you decided to contact him if a PM here or an email via his site would be best.

You can sorta fix this by putting a newline before every <room> tag in the xml file JSWED generates. That makes JSWED read all the rooms, however guardians, conveyors and other stuff can still be messed up or missing altogether.

The JSW Remakes website has not been updated since 2002. It is a very valuable resource for the state of things on the MM/JSW scene back then (and it's great that it's still online!), but obviously it will be grossly outdated at this point.

Speaking of which, do you have that one german game on your site? I'm pretty sure it isn't completable after playing it for some time.

All right, my first (minimal) feedback:

I seem stuck in "The Cauldron", unable to either get back up or go anywhere else, as can be seen in this picture:

    CauldronProblem.jpg

I'm not sure if it's an intentional trap or a bug 😲.

Can't you get out using the lift 🤔 ? If I remember correclty, you should be able to go up with the striped platform on the left.

Not sure I follow what you're saying sorry. 🙂

It will just export what (was) in JSW 49152 to 65535 as created room images or 45056 to 65535 in MM

I meant if you move the room data up a bit (lower address) it won't export them. To be fair it won't edit them either. Last time I did that as a test I got them "right" first then moved it all. A check with one of the easily tweaked JSWED Basic programs confirmed all was OK.

When I press F8, I just see all the rooms flashing really fast. I don't get image files created on my computer after though or they're well hidden.
