    hello Daniel and everyone
Here is a progress report on the creation of my new game.
    -> I have finished and tested 58 rooms (90%)
The last 6 rooms are being finished.
I will then finish choosing the names of the rooms.
I have planned a translation into French, English and Spanish.
I also have to finish the title screen to present it to you!
And then play to check everything and also to correct colors or passages that will not suit me in the end.
Then... Daniel will be the official tester as for all my previous games. I trust you, your vigilance is important to deliver a flawless game.
    Have a good week everyone
    See you soon

    (in no particular order)
Sendy is back and her long-lost "Jet Set Willy: Role Reversal" and "Manic Person" have been finally gamma-released (with some input from yours truly). Furthermore, she has created "Strangel 2"! It's in a beta stage, I would say. I had the privilege of playtesting it, it's an amazing game. It still needs some finishing touches before the official release, but it's really another demonstration of Sendy's genius as a JSW author 🙂 .
Adban de Corcy (Fabián Álvarez López) was active on the forum a couple of years ago. He worked on "Jet Set Jason: In Roddënwald" and developed it much further, but it's not ready for release yet and I don't think he has worked on it recently. I do hope he will complete the project one day, though.
Geoff Eddy is a member. He released a very nice new game "Willy does the Great Pyramid!" back in 2021.
Richard Hallas posts on the forum from time to time as well as on the "Central Cavern - The Wonderful World of Willy" Facebook group.
Andrew Broad was active here in the past, but hasn't been seen for some time now.
John Elliott is a member and, hopefully, reads the posts from time to time. He hasn't posted for a while though.
Igor Makovsky is a "double member", but hasn't posted here yet.
Vidar Eriksen (Erix1) has joined the forum, but unfortunately his presence was only momentary (he contributed 4 posts).
The Drunken Master!!! is active on WoS, not here.
I don't believe Stuart Hill has joined this forum, but he has commented on "Monstrum" on the JSW Central YouTube channel (revealing interesting info about the ending).
That's a quick overview. I may have missed some people (sorry about this!), this "old-timers" list is not necessarily exhaustive. And there are some wonderful people here who were not active in the Yahoo! Group days but have done A LOT for JSW and MM in the last decade - I'm sure you will be pleased to e-meet them 🙂 .

I figured I should say "hi" properly here. My name is Gary - I was part of the old yahoo group 20 odd years ago, and hosted the JSW Remakes site (as "Gawp" hence the user ID here).
It's been a long time, but after I stumbled on the walkthrough video on YouTube for my old "Willy Comes Home" effort, I found my way to JSW Central, and here. Thanks to @jetsetdanny for fixing it, and making the toilet run work (I honestly intended to fix it, but y'know...). It was a blast to see it completed, and see how it could have been better!
Also a big hello to @Sendy The Endless - hope you're good, and it's great to see you've been busy with JSW again - I always loved STRANGEL in particular 🙂
Apart from Danny and Sendy is there anyone else around from back then?
    So many questions!!
Anyway, great to be 'back' and I'm looking forward to playing the many new remakes that have spring up in the last 20 years, and hopefully finishing "Voyager" 🙌

Thanks for posting the photos, Igor! Frosya was a beautiful cat, indeed! 🙂
I hope the nostalgia will make you create more JSW games. Since there's no JSWED for Mac at the moment, you could get a cheap PC - it could really be an old, obsolete machine, JSWED doesn't require modern parameters - and use it just to design new games 🙂 .

    Hi, I'm Igor
I've created these games (and some more mini games)
    Frosya the Cat (early 2002)
    JSW: Zx Heroes (late 2002)
    Ultimate Manic Miner (early 2006)

    Mini games:
    Lena vs Margo (mid 2006)
    Marina the firequest (early 2007)
It was a great time, being part of the JSW/MM scene in 2001 – 2007 (in a yahoo! group)
Today Daniel Gromann has released a bug-fixed version of my first JSW game and I've experienceed so much nostalgia that it made me totally stuck, replaying and thinking of that awesome period of time. Jet Set Willy was an epoch of my life (16 – 22 y.o)
    Ask me anything!

    Hello, Hervé and Everyone,
I absolutely agree it is not a competition about how many games one has created! And it would be useless, anyway, because one day a well-trained ChatGPT or other large language model (LLM) will be able to produce thousands of MM/JSW games in a split second. So there...
I also agree with this view and personally have deep respect for every single author of a released MM/JSW game, even if they only created one. And respect for everyone else who keeps the scene alive, including the players, because without them creating games would be like graphomania 😉 .
It's great that "The Temple" is progressing so nicely, Hervé! I really, really look forward to playing it once it comes to the beta stage (if you let me playtest it) or after the release 🙂 .

    Hello Daniel and everyone,
The topic of the number of JSW games created by an author makes me uncomfortable.
I have no desire or even the idea of dethroning the authors.
First of all because I have immense respect for these giant authors, it would be terrible to want to compare ourselves to them and I do not feel at all concerned by an idea of competition.
Respect also for the authors who have only created one because it is already huge.
And respect also for all those who like you Daniel contribute to keeping this kind of old games alive via complete sites, videos and programming advice.
My motivation is just to contribute, to participate in my own way to this.
I also take great pleasure in creating games.
I imagine situations and themes that can allow us to leave our real world for a moment. That's all.
Motivation also to give everyone the desire to create new games too. I remind you that all the characters and objects of my games are free, you can use them for your creations.
Here is a progress report on the creation of my new game.
    -> I finished and tested 52 pieces (81%)

    hello Daniel and everyone
Here is a progress report on the creation of my new game.
    -> I have finished and tested 50 rooms (78%)
The two complicated rooms are finished. i spent several days for each of them.
    Update on other projects:
I discovered that my project "Welcome to Willy's Fun Park!" was quite advanced, so I'm already working on the creation of the rooms. it will probably be released before the end of the year 2025.
    I abandoned the following projects:
""Willy in Cathar Country" and "Jet Set Willy: The Labyrinth"
    I added 4 news projects.
I will keep one "8 - unnamed" because as a clue it is named twice in the rooms of my current project! It's up to you to guess it! it's easy :-)
Here is the list which should not change much.

5 - Willy in the Islands of Mystery: part II The temple  64[ - 64 rooms
    6 - Welcome to Willy's fun Park ! 64Z - 64 rooms
    7 - "Willy Saves Maria 64[ - 64 rooms
8 - It's up to you to discover it by playing my next game! 64W - 128 rooms
9 - Exploration of Rama III (the title can still change) we explore the third ship. everything goes by three! 64[ - 64 rooms
10 - JSW Journey to the Center of the Earth 64W - 128 rooms
11 - surprise also for the theme and the name of this project 64[ - 64 rooms
12 -  Jet Set Willy : the Legend of the Pied Piper 64W - 128 rooms
    13 - Willy in the Great Pyramid 64W - 128 rooms.
This list will be updated with the progress of the creations.
I hope to release two games per year!

I'm amazed anyone finished WCH, and highly flattered that you fixed it in order to do so. Somewhere I have a couple of unfinished JSW games, if I can get an editor to work I may try to finish them.
Thanks again for making me smile 😀

    Hello Jet Set Willie,
to answer your question, I didn't find any problem adding or removing monsters.
the only problems i encountered was when i transformed a game from a Z version to ] for example. or from 128k to 48k. the editor does not manage memory in the same way and this generates errors. But without it being blocking. See you soon Hervé

    Hello Jet Set Willie,
I use the editor as is without making any modifications.
I can help you with the errors encountered when using it
over time I understood how to correct them.
how to create animations or errors in the blocks
I focus on creation, it is already very difficult to find time to do it.
So I do not ask more from the editor, especially since it is complete enough to be able to produce a complete game.
I worked on the memory only to correct errors, and with the help of other authors stronger than me in computer science. but it was a long time!
I kept all the technical documents
I looked this weekend., I have information on the memory space of the 48k version but not for the 128k version.
I am sorry for this answer which does not help you much...
    See ou soon.

Here is a progress report on the creation of my future game :
I have made and tested 39 rooms (61%).
I’m currently working on 2 complex rooms.
Willy can already move around all the rooms.
All the traps work and can be crossed without dying even if sometimes it seems impossible!
I have not continued, for the moment, the design of the title screen.
There is still a lot of work to be done !

Hello Daniel, the authors and the whole jsw community
Here is a progress report on the creation of my game.
I have made and tested 19 rooms (29%).
I started by creating the rooms with the most complex animated systems. I think you will curse me!!!

The final sequence is also created.
It's a completely different ending.  Very different from my previous games.
I hope I have enough space in memory to create the other guardians in the game.
Presentation page animation is half finished

Even if the creation is progressing faster than expected, I am maintaining the release date at September 2025 for the moment.
The funny thing is that I'm already imagining rooms for the next game... the creation phase gives ideas for the future, it's pretty cool.
I will provide the following update next week.

    Have a good week everyone.
    See you soon !
