AukonDK
I recently found these 2 ports, written in C and SDL2 by Github user "fawtytoo". They seem very faithful to the Speccy original with a few bugfixes. You can even enable the copy protection on JSW with a tweak to the source code. No binaries available but they compiled quite easily on Linux. They are also on Portmaster if you have one of those Anbernic or Powkiddy handheld devices (this is where I found them initially). https://github.com/fawtytoo/ManicMiner https://github.com/fawtytoo/JetSetWilly jetsetdanny, manic986 and Spider 1
jetsetdanny
Thanks for this, AukonDK! Would anyone be able to compile binaries for the PC (Windows)?
AukonDK
Quote Would anyone be able to compile binaries for the PC (Windows)? I gave it a go. This is for 64 bit Windows and I included the SDL2 dll it needs. Ran fine in Wine so fingers crossed. fawtytoo MM JSW win64.zip Norman Sword and jetsetdanny

AukonDK
Oh and here are the Linux builds. Great for the Steam Deck but you'll need to set up the controller to push the right keys. fawtytoo MM JSW linux.zip jetsetdanny and Spider
fawtytoo
I signed up to this website after noticing this thread. I'm not much of a binary kind of guy, just happy to share the code. Not much interested in Windows, so sorry there too. Thanks for the mention here. Spider, jetsetdanny, JianYang and 1 other 3

fawtytoo
Thanks to @AukonDK for the Windows builds. Would anyone here be interested in maintaining a Windows build on my GitHub repository? It's just that I've just fixed a crucial bug and now those builds will be out of date. Or, at the very least, maintain those Windows builds on here or somewhere else I can link to? Edited December 24, 2025 by fawtytoo
fawtytoo
Hi guys and gals, Just thought I'd upload the latest releases of MM & JSW for Windows. They are 64bit only but should work on 7 onwards. Any feedback on compatibility would be welcome. Regards, Steve ManicMiner.zip JetSetWilly.zip jetsetdanny
