JSW In London

Recommended Posts

Hello to the entire JSW community,

After a few months' absence due to a busy schedule that prevented me from dedicating myself to creating my games, I'm back.
I hope you're all doing well and that your projects are progressing smoothly.
And that you've had the chance to play "Welcome to Willy's Fun Park" (project 7) ! 🙃

This new topic aims to update you on the progress of my next game:

Project 8 - JSW in London :

JSW game, 64W version - 128 rooms.
Its release is planned for 2026. I'm hoping for a release before summer.

Here's the first progress report on the game's development:

  • The paper plan is finalized.
  • The file is created, and the rooms are in order.
  • I've created and tested 6 rooms (4%).
  • The final sequence is complete.

Here's an update on my other projects:

Project 11 - Christmas Day. Version 64 [- 64 rooms
The paper plan is finished.
The file is created and the pieces are ready.
I've made good progress on this project; its release is planned for December 2026.

Project 12 - Time Tunnel: Middle Ages. Version 64 [- 64 rooms
The paper plan is finished.
The file is created and the pieces are ready.
I've made good progress; I hope to release it in 2027.

Project 10 - Journey to the Center of the Earth. Version 64W - 128 rooms.
The paper plan is finished.
The file is created and the pieces are ready.
I've made good progress; I hope to release it in 2027.

Project 9 - Exploration of Rama III. Version 64 [- 64 rooms.
The paper plan is finished.
The file is created and the pieces are ready.

Project 7: Willy Saves Maria. Version 64W - 128 rooms.
The file is created and the pieces are ready.
This project will be published after all the previous ones.
It was supposed to be the next one, but I'm more motivated for the previous projects.

That's it for the latest updates to my projects, which are as close as possible to what I want to achieve.

See you soon!
Hervé

Hi Jet Set Willie,

Thank you for your message.

On 11/22/2025 at 11:22 AM, Jet Set Willie said:

Is this further exploration related to "Rendezvous with Rama"? 🙂

Yes! Absolutely!

It's a book I loved and have read several times.

In fact, I don't think I've ever truly left that immense and strange spaceship…

The idea is to be able to explore the ship as a tribute to this fantastic book, and also because no film has ever been made from this story. It's a real shame.

I want to, and this is a big challenge for me, let the player experience all the highlights of this adventure through the most iconic locations: the cylindrical sea, New York, the grand staircase, dawn.

Why Rama 3? Because in the book series, only two ships have approached Earth, so this will be the third, since everything comes in threes in the world of the Ramaians!

It's hard to resist the urge to start this project immediately, but I have to finish my two current projects for 2026 first.

But the good news is that I've already created the rooms in a simple way for now, and Willy can already move around in them! All that's left is to create the scenery, the guards, and everything else…

See you soon

Hervé

Nice to hear it was based on that book! 🙂 I may have read it as a child, your description sounds familiar. 🙂 Now there´s a good excuse to find that book again! 🙃

No film yet? No problemo, you can play it already! It was published in the 1980s already. 🙂 Probably no Speccy version, though, but if that´s not going to bother you, go ahead and give it a try!  I think it had a very nice cover art. 🙂

Again I can just wonder your creative speed! 🥰

  • 2 months later...

The file is created and the pieces are ready.
I've made good progress; I hope to release it in 2027.

Project 10 - Journey to the Center of the Earth. Version 64W - 128 rooms.

  • The title screen is finished.
  •  I'm starting to create the rooms and the guardians.

The paper plan is finished.

Project 9 - Exploration of Rama III. Version 64 [- 64 rooms.

  • The title screen is finished.
  •  I'm starting to create the rooms and the guardians.

The paper plan is finished.
The file is created and the pieces are ready.
I've made good progress; I hope to release it in 2028.

Project 7: Willy Saves Maria. Version 64W - 128 rooms.

->I'm deleting this project permanently

I've given a lot of thought to what to do next with this list.
I want to create these five games because I think they can stand out from the ones I've already made and offer players a unique experience.

After that, I've decided not to add any new projects to the five games already planned. In other words, these will be my last creations.
I have many other creative passions that I'd like to explore more seriously.
I'd also like to be able to dedicate more time to video games. I miss them.

See you soon
Hervé

Thank you for the update, Hervé! It's good to know how your projects are progressing 😁.

A little feedback, if I may:

- I would suggest using the British spelling in the title of the "Journey to the Centre of the Earth". So "Centre", not "Center", taking into account the Britishness of JSW and the complete lack of American involvement in this area.

- My suggestion for the title of Project 12 would be: "Time Machine: The Middle Ages". The name of that period is used in plural in English, unlike "Le Moyen Âge" in French. Also, perhaps it would be nice to involve Willy in the title by making it "Willy's Time Machine: The Middle Ages"? Just a suggestion 🙂.

Your declaration that "these will be my last creations" is certainly a sad one for JSW lovers, but I hope that you might reconsider it in the future. In any case, your game development plans for 2026-2028 are really awesome! 🙂

Oh, and one more little point. If "JSW in London" is supposed to have 128 rooms and you've got 15 rooms ready, it's not 24% - it's a little less than 12% 😉 .

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for your advice.
I've updated the list accordingly and modified the title screens.
Regarding the number of rooms completed in the "JSW in London" game, I calculated the percentage for 64 rooms instead of 128...

I hope to reach 24% in the coming weeks! 😉

I'm also taking this opportunity to show you the title screen for the next game "JSW IN LONDON".

Its release is planned for December 2026.

Project 12 -  Time Machine : Middle Ages. Version 64 [- 64 rooms

I'm keeping this title because Willy returns to a location from one of my games (which you'll have to discover for yourself) to use a time tunnel, "the time machine". It's not his invention, which is why the game can't be called "Willy's Time Machine."

I've also separated the titles, putting "Time Machine" first, because I might one day, who knows, add other journeys... to ancient Rome, the ancient empires of Central and South America... the door remains open to that idea.

  • The title screen is finished.
  •  I'm starting to create the rooms and the guardians.

The paper plan is finished.
The file is created and the pieces are ready.
I've made good progress; I hope to release it in 2027.

Project 10 - Journey to the Centre of the Earth. Version 64W - 128 rooms.

  • The title screen is finished.
  •  I'm starting to create the rooms and the guardians.

The paper plan is finished.
The file is created and the pieces are ready.
I've made good progress; I hope to release it in 2027.

  • The title screen is finished.
  •  I'm starting to create the rooms and the guardians.
