Sendy The Endless
Very tastefully done, a compromise between flip-screen and scrolling. It would be awesome if it came with a map editor, or the ability to load in (and set up camera control points for) other JSW-hacked games. AukonDK
Excuse the resurrection of an old thread but @CPL has posted a full playthrough of this on their Youtube channel. Spider, CPL and JianYang
jetsetdanny
Thanks for the link, AukonDK! It looks very nice, I must say. This kind of "moderate scrolling" solution works very well. And please don't apologize for resurrecting an old thread 🙂 . New info is always appreciated, and the JSW games scene (at least the Spectrum one) has seen a number of projects resurrected and released after many years - and it's just awesome to see such things happen! 🙂 Spider
CPL
Thank you for posting this @AukonDK. I appreciate it. It's a shame the licensing / ownership of Jet Set Willy is such a mess. Otherwise I'd happily release it to the public. Matthew Smith has seen a video of it though, and he liked it, so that's enough approval for me. 🙂 Spider and jetsetdanny
IRF
A couple of beneficial game play changes are noticeable from the walkthrough: - The item on the edge of Conservatory Roof is now collectable; - You can safely drop down either side of a rope from the room above, provided you get the timing right (which you can also do because you can preview the room below from above). UncleWan
What a wonderful JSW remake, what creative ideas and good visuals! Another thing that caught my attention is that you seem to use the Amstrad cpc version of JSW's music (it sounds atmospheric and I really like it), is there any way to download that track? Or is it just a reworking of an existing piece? (Just like the C64 version) jetsetdanny and Spider 1
CPL
@UncleWan Hi! I grew up with the MSX version of Jet Set Willy 2 - which used the same music as the Amstrad version. For the remake I arranged/composed 24 different variations on the music which cross-fade depending on which room you are in / what state the game is in. There are a few cheeky nods to other games / franchises in there for a bit of fun. That piece was originally composed by Steve Wetherill who worked on the CPC version. He kindly gave me his blessing to rearrange it and include it in the remake. There's no way to download it. I suppose I could make a longer edit of certain variations. Might be an interesting project in itself! Edited July 26 by CPL Clarification jetsetdanny and UncleWan 1

And while it would be a shame not to get to this remake, it's a testament to itself that there's still plenty of room for innovation and life in JSW. Thumbs up again for your remake!😁 jetsetdanny
Norman Sword
Addendum - I wrote the cpc version of Jet Set Willy The Title music is Moonlight Sonata and was writen by Beethoven in 1801. So slightly before Mr Wetheril came along. The in game short tune is by Mr Wetheril.
