๐ฎ I thought I'd picked "the worst" too ๐

Does it have to be a Spectrum version ? If you can and its practical the extended level sets from Sam Coupe MM are excellent, the disc is sort of denied but... The demo / limited / standard is or was on a magazine cover but iirc this does not include the extra levels, I built one from the compilation disc cutting out the unwanted stuff leaving a 'pure MM' disc, except its not got the correct scrolling (original) message nor the correct (again original) loading screen, those are on my todo list as I can't directly edit it with ZXBE. Let me know if you have any issues with that ๐ If its a ZX version then have a look here > https://jswcentral.org/list.html#ListofMMgames ๐

Thanks . ๐ I'll try to see what is going on later , v. occupied at present! ๐ฎ

Thanks Richard. ๐ I did mean to reply to say similar but it slipped my mind. I suspect the Ebay ones will go relatively quickly once they are 'known about'

Thanks Danny. The colours are sane (ish) but as it was requested on FB and I did experiment with using an XOR instead of AND and tweaking that and the OR as well, some truly awful combinations are possible, here's a selection of the 'not too great' ones ๐ฎ That's not photoshopped, I'd not know how.

Updated slightly again to ensure that links -were- links and to confirm the auto-generated download topics were automagically updated to reflect the new (restored) content. ๐ Thank you @jetsetdannyfor point these out. As per usual if any issues are noted (for everyone) please feel free to post to tell me or if you prefer a PM that's fine too.

Nothing required here. I first looked at a different file by mistake in confusion but upon looking again it was clear which one. But the one in question , identified by its ID number of 55 which never changes is identical:

Fixed. ๐ The missing text is as follows More accurately, it actually 'stopped' when it read the word " encontrarรกs " , the accented character " รก " was enough for it to fail. As before the download descriptor was updated so the topic will automatically update in a short time. @jetsetdanny Some text formatting was lost unfortunately due to the nature of having to get the raw 'preconversion' data out, you may wish to edit it via "edit details" and perhaps adjust the text formatting yourself if you feel its needed. I did a bit of tidying up regarding excess and insufficient spacing but it was not immediately clear to me where you wished paragraphs to start and end.
-
Fixed. ๐ The missing text was This was restored to the download descriptor, then the system will 'automagically' update the generated topic from the file with the 'new' content a short time later. It also gave me the ideal opportunity to rectify the awol author/attribution section too for this file.

I do have these working on a real machine with a real tape, I can't sanely get any faster. Title ... Fast Loading Time / Original tape loading time JSW ... 51s / 3m 4s MM (SP) ... 49s / 3m 35s MM (BB) .. 49s / 3m 26s JSW (16K) ... 29s / 1m , 6s Two are attached, MM Bug-Byte and JSW 16K, the latter I modded my already modded loader for a rainbow effect, just for a bit of a change...

Thanks Norman. I'd suspect its the same seller but its possible its not. ๐

Yes, sadly its a long held habit I've got from playing the ZX versions of JSW1 and MM in that I expect him to climb up. Its more a problem in JSW2 in rooms such as East Wall Base where you cannot hang about too long on the edge of a platform due to the high speed vertical guardians keen to "say hello" to M.W ๐ฎ ๐ The Amstrad CPC versions of MM , JSW1 and JSW2 all 'mirror' the ZX behaviour of JSW2 , this is why I'm not great at the CPC version of MM!
-
This is why in say " YlliWTeSTeJ " , there's an extra couple of water cells*** to permit M.W to jump across properly, see my combi pic. Please ignore the fact the guardians are not in the exact same places, did not see a need to go that far ๐ You can clearly see those red water cells in the 'mirrored' / 'inverted' one though as M.W is stood (in the right hand pic) a block away from them. *** More accurately really two earth cells were replaced with water, allowing him to 'pass his head' through ๐

Thanks for this. ๐ I'll do my upmost to 'virtually attend' if I can.

It was posted in a FB group "Wonderful World of Willy" (a group for MM and JSW games from all machines) Source (may or may not work) here Believed genuine... Museum website link is here

Although possibly not that easy due to space concerns (?) is it possible you think to get the older 'legacy' JSW1 style of movement into JSW2 ? As its really easy to fall off platforms in JSW2 (compared to JSW1) on the Spectrum. The Amstrad version (of 1 and 2 and MM) also have this 'fall off' issue. I realise its down to my playing style though. I like to stand on the very edge of a platform, jump then move left or right. In JSW1 you jump as expected. In JSW2 you fall off! ๐ฎ ๐

File updated yesterday to correct a small cosmetic concern. Thank you @TobyLobster for being able and willing to do this quickly. ๐

I forgot to mention, you might be interested in one of these, assuming they are still available and to your liking:

I was not able to get any further on this matter just yet (time really) but I do have some ideas "on the back burner" so to speak. I'll mention it on the Acorn forum later as I need to check something unrelated on there too.
-
I have now ( with thanks to @TobyLobster ) submitted the file here now too. Download > https://jswmm.co.uk/files/file/148-jetset-willy-2021/ Discussion Topic (auto generated by a new submission) > https://jswmm.co.uk/topic/623-file-jetset-willy-2021/ ๐

As per your announcement topic, this is absolutely brilliant ๐

Quick notes: I see you've carefully retained the Kitchen guardian paths so you can move leftwards without stopping, something other versions sometimes forget. The Swimming Pool item auto collects (expected) as well as retaining the charm and quirks of the original, I can imagine it was (if it was me) difficult to not want to 'fix things' , but as they say if its not broken don't try to fix it. ๐ ๐ I'll stop posting now to not spoil it
