  1. My guesses, I've left A and D out for now as I'm really not sure! B C E F G H I J
  2. Thanks 😮 It did exist in a cruder/basic form for a few years before that, its still very crude but for what I use it for its quite good enough.
  3. Only about 7 years late, I finally submitted this to Spectrum Computing, Ahem.
  4. There is a hint of psychedelic overtones I guess, but I suppose its what the 'brain' decided was suitable for humans to interpret. Maybe. 🙃

    Ropes & Arrows

It does catch the un-initiated out ! I'd speculate it was done that way to make it harder to control him on a rope, as it seems easier to code it as a fixed method , at least from a players perspective. I can see the logic in some ways if you think of it differently in that JSW does not have an up/down control so to reverse left/right for rope climbing/descending does make a bit of sense too. Have you compared this to JSW2 or perhaps JSW on other platforms ? I can't recall immediately offhand if they differ and I don't have access at this moment to check for instance the BBC or CBM version out.
  6. I'd agree with this. 🙂 Its quite logical.
  7. My guess is slightly different Both are logical though! 😄
  8. View File Characters A small set of six characters: Miner Willy on the Barrel Miner Willy on the Plinth Jet Set Willy on the Barrel Jet Set Willy on the Plinth Maria on the Barrel Maria on the Plinth All images are the same size (total 770px x 1282px) , each 'block' being 30px square with a 2px grid to help easily determine where each one starts and ends. I did not create mirror images as that is easy enough to do and also subjective to if both the character and/or the object (Plinth/Barrel) should also be mirrored or not. These may be suitable for printing out or perhaps via craftwork, creating a model of your own. Enjoy! 🙂 Submitter Spider Submitted 05/11/2022 Category Graphics, styling and enhancements

  10. Some small notes: I took the liberty of creating some screenshots and including them in the description as the .zip is a simple .tap file only. Thus does not auto-run, I decided not to change this, preserving it "as is" Once changes are made the utility will offer to save the modified code out, it will not execute it so either save it or 'break' and run a USR 33792 as it will reset the machine after this! Finally, it does not bypass the code protection.

  13. I sent a more detailed explanation (and a small correction) in a PM 🙂
  14. ID 02 (or 01 if you count from 00) Famous book and film from the 50's with a connection , I think. This room also features in Technician Ted 128 - The Megamix although its design is completely different! Hopefully that does not spoil it.
  15. 😄 Thank you. Fixed. Without the colours either 😉 It could be the other way around, I'd not checked.
  16. That would be cavern 10 or 0Ah (assuming one counts Central Cavern as zero) I could attach a pic colours of the Portal which I hope does not spoil it, but I could be wrong: 2 / 6 🙂

    JSW with scrolling

Viewpoints looks good, if its controllable. It reminds me of that giant animated map (cannot recall immediately what it was called) 🙂 Scrolling vs exits, yes you're right sorry! I was not thinking! 😄

    JSW with scrolling

Meant to add a few more details, as I was able to watch this earlier in full and properly digest what I saw. The effect of colour transition where the rooms have a different "paper" colour is very nice as is the effect of the room name change too. I think you should go with 100 items as you mentioned. I did wonder as you have included a couple of JSW2 rooms perhaps above Esmerelda a Belfry as per JSW2 (and one of our project games here too) 🙂 Only if you want another room! That does fix something that I still think was left in by accident, the 'teleport to Ballroom' Talking of teleports, invalid exits such as top of Watch Tower, have you prevented these ? I think my quick fix was to lower the conveyor one row down to Willy could not jump out the top of the screen. Just a thought, feel free to ignore! 😄 Regarding Forgotten Abbey / Wine Cellar , the easy way to 'fix' this would be to allow left exit from Wine Cellar to Tool Shed but put the exit path a bit above the floor so you can only get 'out of' Wine Cellar not back in ? That way you've got an easy way out without going under Security Guard if you want, also means the player has to transverse the slightly tricky Tool Shed in payment for an easy escape!

    JSW with scrolling

Now I like that. Its not like 'Skooldaze' or BTS / CSC where it scrolls about 8 blocks at a time and when I saw the title I thought of the Amiga version which looks lovely but it did not scroll enough so unless you knew exactly where the guardians were (and even then it was difficult) it was a bit too hard. But I see you've taken this to a sane level and I like what I see. 🙂 The jumping sound does seem a bit high pitched but that is me being picky 😄 ignore!
