  1. I will repeat: Soon you will see! 😉I will tell a bit about the game making then. But about what you said about increasing the game speed a bit, is there a speed increasing piece of code available already? I know there is some super fast JSW game, but I don´t know anything else.
  2. JetsetDanny has put some code there (thank you!) to make few rooms to work, but it shouldn´t take much room. My own code occupies even less, actually I have just changed few things, that was fun! 😊Soon you will see!
  3. As soon as JetsetDanny has time to test play it. 🙂I have tested it through many times, I hope he won´t find anything what needs a big change in some room. 😄
  4. Thank you, Norman and Spider! I had forgotten that. The second program works now 🥰 so the whole game works. 🙂 The problem with the LINE was that I have used Klive emulator. When I go to extended mode and press symbol shift and 3 together, it goes to K mode. I tried ZXSpin now, it brings me LINE. 😀
  5. Is it possible to save with the start line number in ZX-Editor or ZX-Block Editor? I think it should be possible as there are so many options there, but I didn´t find it.
  6. Yes, in 48K BASIC. I just typed it. As you mentioned EXTEND mode, I tried that and it brings the same result, SAVE "name" ?line .
  7. It loads a loading screen, then it starts to load the actual game. The first program has CLEAR 32767 already. The second program also starts with CLEAR 32767. How I can SAVE with LINE in ZX BASIC? When I type SAVE "name" LINE 10 it brings SAVE "name" ?LINE 10
  8. What I want is to load in the first BASIC program. It will load the second BASIC program then and the second program should over write the first one, not merge them. Does ZX BASIC always bring an error, if two BASIC programs are loaded in like this, if they are not merged or does not have different line numbers? Line 100, the first program has 100 LOAD "name" The second one has 100 LOAD "name"CODE : INK 0: PAPER 0: PRINT AT 1,0: LOAD "name"CODE 32768 I have typed in both BASIC programs with ZX-Editor, so I haven´t SAVEd them using a BASIC command, ie not saved with SAVE "name" LINE... What number I should use in CLEAR command to make sure the program will not bring out of memory?
  9. Hi, I´m back. My game is finished, it mainly needs just playtesting, JetsetDanny has kindly offered himself for that. But it has one problem, I haven´t been able to solve it. I had to cut the BASIC loader to two parts to make it work. The first part loads and runs OK, but the second part immediately brings an error message C Nonsense in BASIC, 100:1 even there is no error on that line. But typing RUN makes it to continue loading. I could release it without the BASIC loaders, but I want to keep it as is. Please, could somebody with enough knowledge about ZX BASIC give it a look, while keeping the game as a secret, until I can release it, thank you. 🙂
  10. Do you mean the author of some special version or the author of those above ones? According to world of spectrum, the inlay author of above mentioned Bug-Byte games is Roger Tissyman.
  11. This roles reversed project just got a new twist as Erix1 appeared from nowhere. 😶 Welcome Erix1! 🙂 Sendy, my loading screen$ is not ready yet. It´s a slow job, I am using ZX Paintbrush (have forgotten most how to use it) and drawing it pixel by pixel with laptop´s user-unfriendly built-in mouse. At yesterday, I arranged time to draw a bit more to it.
  12. I haven´t got much time lately. After my last post I had time to change Maria a bit, but she´s in very unfinished state now.
  13. I test-played this just a bit, but I did certainly notice, how much nice details you have put there! Like that delayded "sliding colour" of room names and great Norman Sword presents title screen! The neat yellow-blue-loading-bars sync´ing with the title tune! Was this feature ever used in any other Spectrum game? The fast speed made this to feel like brand new totally different (great) game! There was one problem with this game, though. It would have made all the other Spectrum games of the day look and feel crap! 😂 Congratulations!! 🙂 That blue miner picture looks familiar, where it is from? 🙂
  14. I started drawing it at last evening, currently the screen$ includes a partly drawn Maria and a bit scenery.
  15. I have one idea already for the loading screen, I will try. 🙂
  16. Sendy, I might try it. Just give me time, ok? 🙂 If you want to personally discuss more about the loading screen, please send me a PM(s).
  17. This topic was about a modern remake of JSW. I started to talk about Amiga, wishing someone could convert this modern remake to Amiga too. 🙂 Amiga could then have JSW more close to the original version. 🙂
  18. About MSX JSW2 cursors down + space + caveman, I remember a case that it works and many cases it works not. Maybe it won´t work with emulators? This was so long ago, I don´t remember....
  19. This song is used in one game already, in Commando 86/Duet on Commodore 64. You might want to listen it through the AY in advance before making an arrangement? Please try some SIDplayer what will play SID tunes through the AY, I am not sure, though, if Commando 86/Duet tune worked on AY Sidplayer? But I think it worked. If you want to use Commando 86 arrangement as a "base" for your own arrangement, please remove or soften those drums. They´re great, but in my opinion they won´t suit to Spectrum Willy game. 🙂
  20. MSX JSW2, I think you had to type "CAVEMAN" as a password after pressing down all the cursor keys and space. If I´m wrong, please delete this post.
  21. May I suggest, if you make this game real using JSWED, that you or somebody else, will arrange the song called "The battle" as a tune for title screen. As you´ll make the game using JSWED64, then you could use it as an ingame tune as well. 🙂 I´m afraiding beeper version won´t have enough notes to have enjoyable (not irritatingly too repetitive) ingame tune, though with 128K Spectrum, you may not need to make the beeper tune. The song is from Rick Wakeman´s Journey To The Centre Of The Earth LP, 🙂 the entire LP is based on that book. 🙂
  22. Now please model Commodore 64 stairs. 🙂 On a Spectrum it was a mere ramp.....
  23. Yes, I understood that. 🙂 I meant to point out, that anybody wanting to make a JSW game, should read this topic through and to take all the comments into account, but not necessarily to obey them. 😉 Otherwise we might not see some interesting rooms 🙂 as somebody might obey the "rules" too strictly, fearing the others may not accept the game with "unwanted" features.
