FAKE NEWS!!!!! I remember this man was watching graphics demonstration on orange screen. To prove this, please take a look at ZX Printer. He´s not a gamer type! 😆
-
Yes, it´s a card sized cartridge, thus a card. 🙂 Also, you can´t use it as a normal cartridge on MSX, you need a Beecard adapter, too. The Beecard JSW I downloaded long time ago had lots of lives, I don´t know if japanese publisher had modified it to turn the difficulty level more acceptable? Or perhaps somebody had modified the internet file?

Thanks, I am trying to use "Remember me" to see if it helps.

The last one I can understand as a part of a loader program, to select what to load. 🙂

About the large square what turns blue when Willy walks to it, please try to change Ink and Paper, in example if Ink is 6 Ink is 2 and Paper is 0, change them to Ink 0 and Paper 6 Paper 2. Then you can decide which one is better for your purposes. About the latter problem, it looks like what Spider said, you have used the same Ink/Paper colour combination for cells 9 and A, both cells being Ink dark red/Paper black (or vice versa). If that´s the case, please try the following. cell 9 Ink 6 Ink 2 / Paper 0 cell A Ink 0 / Paper 6 Paper 2 (Sorry...🫣) The other cell will turn to dark red square when Willy touches it, but at least you can get both tiles visible. 🙂 Though, sometimes the engine lets you use the same Ink/Paper combinations for more than one cell. For this, you just have to try that in every room, if you can use certain colour combinations more than once.

Thanks for sharing this interesting memory, Norman! 🙂 Where and when this happened?

My game - What a Wonderful World of Willie

Thanks. I don´t know, how far people will get in my game anyway 🙄 even all of them are probably using infinite lives "cheat". 😉 -
Hi, I just noticed this topic. There are two asian JSW and MM versions. A japanese card (not cartridge) version of JSW, they had modified it a bit, moonlight sonata was probably ripped off and I think the ingame tune was different. The second one is Alligata´s MM clone Blagger, not sure if it was published as a card, cartridge or tape. These games are for MSX. I don´t remember if there was a pirated JSW available in South-Korea by Zemina. Zemina was a company with their MSX clone/video game system.

Yes, that´s one of those ways I couldn´t thought of at all... 😶
-
I could think few of them, but I never thought there could be so many ways.

I can´t help it, the Sinclair Research is one to blame. Or alcohol. 😄 -
My game - What a Wonderful World of Willie

Thank you anybody, who has downloaded my game. Please tell me how far you have got? 🙂 I have thought if I should release a version where one "impossible" room nearer the end has been modified, so you could just walk through that room, only having to get past just one guardian on the left. -

Thank you for your feedback. 🙂 Perhaps I should add a warning to my game´s front inlay, "Warning! One game player has reported illness when he played while being drunk. Please stop playing immediately if are drunk and feel any symptoms." 🤭 The backgrounds of Willy games seem to be "empty", not all of them, but some at least, the platforms and walls and items being the only visible things among the guardians, everything else being usually just empty black. I wanted to bring the missing "3D" there, all the missing things, like the mountains, the clouds, all the scenery "behind" the "nearest" platforms. Also, in some rooms you can walk "further" away from the tv screen and back, too. -
The first thing what I wanted to "Hex", was to move the addresses of few sprites, the way what I had done in the game over sequence in What a Wonderful World of Willie, perhaps touching the toilet sequence a bit, too. Here is another problem with the JSWED 64. While defining sprites to Options > Sprites, at least half of the time there will appear one "garbage sprite", usually arriving to the leftmost sprite and pushes other sprites to the right. Those eight sprites will work normally though, even pushed one sprite to the right. Sometimes there is another just after the eight sprite, making it impossible to use the last eight sprites. If I want to define more than just the first eight, one or more garbage sprites will cause that the second row of available sprites will show as empty. When I try to add a guardian using the sprites from Options > Sprites, in some rooms there is nothing to choose there (Add/Edit a guardian > choose Sprite is empty) even I have just defined those sprites. I can´t add those sprites then, as the sprites list will show just blank space there. There should be two rows of those "sprites-per-room" sprites, but some rooms will show just one row. I have also seen both rows as empty, so no way to use that room´s own sprites there. I think this problem can be solved by "Hexing", but how? By the way, could you moderators please bring more "idle time" before JSWMM "kicks me out". It is annoying to write messages to only notice that when I am pressing "Submit reply" button, my message disappears because JSWMM has logged me out, as it thinks I am just an "idle person", even I am writing a message. 😟

I had used Skoolkit´s pages (and Danny´s tips at first to understand how the Hex things work) to learn and make my effects for my 48 game. I´d be glad to say, but I still would like to use Skoolkit as guidance first as I liked to learn these by myself and ask help if I really can´t understand something. That´s why I would like to know about the JSW related memory addresses of 128K machines. I hope some JSW64/128 veteran can help me. 🙂
-
I will start a new topic to ask help for whatever trouble I have with the JSW64, version [. I have been working on two JSW64 [ games at the same time, the first one is about 50% ready and the other one about 25%. I hope to get them finished some day, I don´t know if I will make any more then. I will add some spoiling information now, please don´t click, if you want to get some surprise in the future. 🤭 OK, here´s the first question. Memory addresses on 128K JSW64 [ seem to be different than on JSW48, as when I tried to add something to my JSW64 [ game months ago, it didn´t succeed. Could somebody please tell me how much higher/lower the memory addresses are?

You´re right, I was just about to quit my room tests, so I didn´t actually try, as previously Willy was able to collect an item masked by an "empty" guardian. Now I understand it was possible because those "empty" guardians were moving, so they didn´t mask the item all the time. I am sorry for posting a not working example. But perhaps somebody could use this as a room idea about items what are possible to collect only in certain moments because of some invisible force?😉
-
Thank you, both of you. 🙂 Norman´s explanation made this very clear. 🙂 I am not sure, what I did wrong in my previous try, but now the invisible item worked. 🙂
-
Thank you, but how I can place an invisible item? And how to place it the way that it will be collected by a guardian? By letting item´s Ink pixels to be same as Paper doesn´t help. By placing an "empty" guardian (no Ink pixels) doesn´t help either. I tried an "empty" item without pixels, too.

As I have mentioned that as I haven´t played much the most of JSW homebrews, I may have invented the wheel few times once again. I don´t know if this is known already, so I will mention this, just in case. As any guardians with the same colour as Willy will automatically collect any items on their paths, you can prevent this by defining a blank guardian with different colour than that particular guardian and placing it so that it will "mask" the item on guardian´s path. The guardian will not collect the item then. 🙂 Of course it will affect the guardian´s colour or any cells touching it, but if you don´t mind that, this may help your room planning. 😊

You´re right, Danny! I somehow understood that wrong. I would like to try to speed-up my game anyway, just to see how it affects the playing, as my game certainly has some ´speed-down´ in it. For that reason, perhaps this speed-up will suit to my game? Though, it will affect that certain effect what I had added there. 😳 I don´t know if there are any JSW or MM games with such ´speed-down´ feature. Are there any? Spider, how I can add it to my game? -
Could it be possible that those cheat Pokes have corrupted the corrupted parts even more?

Perhaps this should be a spoiler, but I will reveal that please try to survive through first few rooms, after that the game becomes easier for a while. In my opinion at least. 🙂
